So Jake and I got the shock of our lives this week! I am 13 weeks pregnant and decided it was time to go to the doctor. Everything went well and the last thing the doctor did before we left was an ultrasound. Just as he was putting the ultrasound on my tummy I told him, "Just don't tell me there is two in there!" Without even skipping a beat he said, "There's two in there!" We thought he was messing around with us because we could distinctly see 1 baby on the monitor. He was taking his sweet little time measuring and doing all that fun stuff when he moved the ultrasound and said, "Here's baby B!" We just about died! I said, "Holy cow! You're serious!" We were absolutely stunned. Jake and I kept looking at each other laughing and shaking our heads. It is pretty exciting and overwhelming and scary all at the same time, but we couldn't be happier. It's funny because after all the intial shock wears off you start to think about what "twins" really means...two cribs, two carseats, double the diapers, a bigger car...the list goes on! I know everything will work out. We have awesome family, friends, and support which makes all the difference. We are so humbled at this HUGE responsibility! The big day is December 14 so we have some time to get ready. We are going to have to move soon and my dad is pretty sure we are in need of a mini-van...I don't know if I can bring myself to that point quite yet! Owen will be 2 in October so we will have three kids two and under!! (: I have to laugh everytime I say that! Our life is definitely going to be turned upside down but it will be totally worth it! We took a few pictures of our ultrasounds, they aren't real clear but I wanted my fam to see them. Twin A was sucking his/her thumb in the ultrasound and we could see Twin B moving all around. Babies are absolutely a miracle! The third pic is both of their heads (the two circles at the top) and that is why the doctor wrote "two heads are better than one!"
Jake and I met at Northwest College in little ole Powell, WY where we both played b-ball for the Trappers! We have been married for 3 1/2 years and have alot of fun. We graduated together in December 2008, Jake in Business and Gretchen in Health Science. Our little boy, Owen, is 20 months old and so much fun. He is acting so much like a big boy and loves basketball, trucks, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and being outside. We just found out that we are expecting twins in December, which is kind of scary but mostly exciting! We love being together and are so blessed!
