So we have a dilemma in the Walker household. Jake's family has been planning a trip to Disneyland in March for over a year. We were really excited about it and then we found out we were having the twins in December so we thought that trip was out for sure..or is it? Do I need to check myself into a loony bin for even considering it?! Ali and Avery will be a little over 3 months and Owen is 2. Do we really want to drive 13 hours one way with 3 kids, 2.5 and under? (That doesn't even include stops for feeding and changing babies, potty breaks, or "if we don't stop for a break I'm going to pull my hair out!") The plan would be to drive to Utah and stay overnight, then drive to Vegas where we would stay for about 3 days and then keep going to California for the rest of the week. I keep trying to think through everything and ask myself, can we seriously do this? Yeah, we might survive but will we just be paying for a whole bunch of gas and food and park tickets just to go and torture ourselves? I don't know! I'd like to think it would be a really fun adventure and Owen would love it, especially Mickey Mouse, and the girls are such good babies that they would be pretty easy, but I don't want to be naive either! What to do, what to do? I've never been to Disneyland so I don't even know what to expect. I would love any advice or even a reality check if I'm just being a crazy person. (:
Avery and Ali snuggling at 7 weeks
This is how Jake found Owen one afternoon. He had been in playing with his blocks and fell asleep with the lid on his head! Too funny (:
My beautiful baby girls! Fatty Patty and Chunky Monkey
Owie chilling with his sisters. I absolutely love my kiddos.
:) well..maybe you are a little crazy but if this is the only chance for you guys to go to Disneyland and it'll be your first time going-i know i definatly wouldn't pass it up! i've never been there either and i would love to go!!! :) it might be a hecktic trip but i think it would be so much fun...especially for owen! :)
ReplyDeleteIt might be easier now than it would be in a few years, or even a few more months...
ReplyDeleteI love looking at your posts because your kids are so CUTE! My favorite is the one of Owen with his arms around the girls. :) As for Disneyland, I've got nothing for you. Go for it if you're feeling adventerous! I'm sure all will be just fine and Owen will love it. You don't need to be put in a crazy house for considering it, but you might want to admit yourself when you get home. :)
ReplyDeleteHey that would bring you through my neck of the woods! I would seriously drive to Vegas to get to see you for a few minutes! I say go for it, but I am a little bit biased because it would bring those cute kids of yours closer to me! I miss you Gretch!
ReplyDeleteI would go! It would be an adventure for sure! Austin and I are taking the kids to Boise on Thursday to see Mandy and Katie at State. I know it isn't as far as Disneyland but still sitting through lots of games with three kids isn't easy! Austin and I also say that just because we have three little kids doesn't mean we don't do anything. I think it would be a great trip!
ReplyDeleteOh my word your kids are stinkin cute! and I love the names fatty patty and chunky monkey..love them. As far as Disneyland I have been a few times and it is great. If you are going to have help on hand for the kids I would say go for it. It is expensive though and a long trip, but I bet it would be an easier car ride now while your girls still sleep...hopefully. Take a stroller and the camera and enjoy your family!! We miss you guys
ReplyDeleteYour kids are darling the girls are so dang cute and yes chunky. I would say the ride would be horrible but go for it if you have family going to help with the kids so you can enjoy disneyland with Owen I loved DisneyLand I definately want to take my kids there and to Sea World I loved that cause I am an animal person
ReplyDeleteI don't think you're crazy for considering it at all! I think only you will really know if your family would enjoy themselves or not. Having been there I would say that I would base it on how many days you're going to spend actually there and how much of Disneyland you want to experience. We went for two days and it totally exhausted us - and this was before kids! BUT - it was one of the most fun things ever! So if you want to see it all and do it all, you might bite off more then you can chew. But if you mostly want to go for the memories and some of the fun things then load 'em up! Your kids are absolutely adorable BTW. I swear your girls already weigh more then Saydi! I'm jealous. =)
ReplyDeleteGretch- the girls are so adorable. Your main blog picture reminds me of a picture of Alise and I at that age. I hope that you are doing well. You are so amazing! About disneyland....Well, you might be crazy, but that is what having kids is....crazy! It is a big decision though. Well, I have an idea, you could drop the girls off at my house and then you, Jake, and Owen go....we would love to watch them! I am very serious, though I am sure that you probably don't want to be away from them so long. We have been toying with the same idea and trying to figure if it would be worth it to go now or wait until our kids are a little older....so many decisions. Truly honestly life would be so boring if it wasn't so crazy, complicated, wonderful, and fun!
ReplyDeleteI have heard about these two little ones from Amber and I have to agree with her---They are soooo CUTE and ADORABLE!!! What fun pictures on your last couple of posts. I can't even imagine what it's like to have TWO at a time, but if anyone could do it, it would be you. Owen is getting so big, I bet he's REALLY helpful with the babies! :) Hope things are going good!
